Ways to Treat Excessive Sweating

There is nothing more embarrassing than having sweaty underarms, feet or palms. This is a condition that is better called Hyperhidrosis and something that shouldn't be brushed off as it can create a huge impact in one's personal life. If the case is severe, it can even leave a person unproductive and unable to perform very important tasks and roles in life. Unfortunately, not everyone who suffers gets treatment and simply leaves the problem as this. But the thing is, it won't go away on it's own.

There are two kinds of excessive sweating, being the primary and secondary hyperhidrosis. Here are some of the treatments and ways that can help stop excessive sweating:

First is the Botox injection excessive sweating treatment. This is a temporary means that stops the sweat glands from further being triggered. The injections are said to range from 15-20 small injections in the area where the sweat is experienced. Where the injections will be shot will be determined by certain diagnostic sweat tests. There are times when the injections may hurt and in these cases, anesthetic techniques may be used that come in the form of intravenous sedation medication, topical creams and oral medications as well. This may be temporary but the effects last for as long as 6 months. That means no sweaty underarms for a long time.

Medications can also be a great way to eliminate excessive sweating. The lighter hyperhidrosis cases are those that are prescribed by the physicians with over the counter, anti-antiperspirants and non-prescription drugs. The results may be slower than the other hyperhidrosis treatment but none-the-less, effective still. There are prescriptions that make use of aluminum chloride which are said to be applied on the skin surface while they are dry.

Learn more about this from the site at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroscience. This is best applied at night time before going to bed because this is said to be the most effective. After 8 hours of being on the skin, this should be wiped clean and removed. There are instances when side effects are to be experienced such as the red, itchy and swollen  skin surfaces due to the antiperspirants.

Oral medications can also be an option to eliminating the problem. This is said to control hyperhidrosis and blocking the nerves impulses to the glands that produce the sweat.

Surgery is done to the most severe cases, when all the above mentioned options have not worked. The surgery done works by triggering the nerve signals and also removing some of the over-acting sweat glands.
